Lexington Leader, Lexington, Kentucky, Tuesday, January 2, 1962, Page 10: Berea---Mrs. Della Hays Baker, 79, wife of Colonel George Baker, Scaffold Cane Road, died at 1:10 p.m. Monday at the Berea College Hospital after a long illness. She was a native of Jackson County and a long-time resident of Berea. She was a member of the Union Church. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Smallwood, Englewood, Calif.; a brother, Herbert Hays, Berea; three sisters, Mrs. Ellen Mitchell, Berea, Mrs. Bess O'Dell, Rochester, N. Y., Mrs. Grace Fulkerson, Ukiah, Calif.; a grandson; several nieces and nephews. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Britton-Wray Funeral Home by the Rev. W. P. Rogers, where the body will remain until the services. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Bearers will be Forest Dowden, Hobart Hazelwood, Forest Eaton Sr., Forest Eaton Jr., Berlib Whittemore and John Willis.
