Lexington Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, Friday, August 13, 1971, Page 2: Director of Berea Bank Dies. Berea, Ky.---Herbert H. Hays, 75, a director of the Berea National Bank, died Thursday. A director of the Berea hospital for 30 years, Hays also was a retired manager of the Berea College Store; past president of the National Association of College Stores; a deacon of the First Christian Church; a member of the Berea Kiwanis Club and of Berea Lodge 617, F&AM, and a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Flannery Hays, one son, Donald Hays, Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one sister, Mrs. O'Dell of Rochester, N.Y., and two grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. The body is at the Wray Funeral Home where friends may call after 5 p.m. today.
