Lexington Herald, Lexington, Kentucky, Wednesday, January 4, 1961, Page 10, Col. 5: Berea, Jan. 3---Mrs. Mattie Hayes Coyle, 85, widow of Rufus Coyle, died at the Berea College Hospital at 11 a.m. today after a long illness. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. C. G. Baker and Mrs. Ellen Mitchell, Berea; Mrs. I. N. Odell, Rochester, N.Y. and Mrs. C. M. Fulkerson, Uriah [Ukiah], Calif.; a brother, H. H. Hayes, Berea, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Rominger Funeral Home.
