Obituary from Wichita Beacon, February 13, 1934, Page 13: Mrs. Ernestine Luella Pike, Goddard, Kas., wife of John C. Pike, a rural mail carrier out of Goddard for many years died in a local hospital Tuesday. Mrs. Pike had been ill for five years. She was born in Coffey County, Kas., 53 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Goddard and Queen City Rebekah Lodge, Rural Neighbors of America No. 477. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs. O. A. Shipley, Pueblo, Colo., Mrs. L. K. Demarest, Fairhaven, N. Y., and Mrs. H. B. Wilson, Goddard, Kas., three brothers, G. W. Kirkpatrick, 902 West Douglas Avenue, J. H. and William both of Bucklin, Kas. Funeral service will await the arrival of the daughter from New York. Burial will be at Goddard, Kas.
