Obituary from the Clearwater Echo, March 10, 1904, Page 1, Column 3: Sanford C. Kirkpatrick. A sad accident resulting in the sudden death of Sanford C. Kirkpatrick occurred Monday, Feb. 19th, near Osceola, Arl., where Mr. Kirkpatrick was at work with the Frisco pile driver. The pile driver was hoisted ready to start when suddenly the huge drive left its track and struck Mr. Kirkpatrick a death blow. He only lived two hours after the injury and never regarded consciousness. Sanford C. son of C.C. and S.E. was born July 1st, 1877 in Illinois. His parents removed early with him to Kansas where the greater part of his life was spent in farming, to which occupation in Kansas he expect4ed soon to return. He was married May 15th, 1899, near Goddard, Kansas, to Miss Sue B. Campbell daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Campbell, then of Wichita, now of Willow Springs, Mo. This union was blessed with two children, a boy and a girl, both of which together with his wife, father, mother, four brothers and three sisters survive and are sorely bereft, was well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was an honest, hard working faithful husband and father, and a favorite among those with whom he labored. This sudden and unexpected departure should teach us all a valuable lesson of the uncertainty of life and the necessity of abiding in the only safe retreat, Jesus Christ, the eternal rock of ages. Two brothers, George and James and sister Stella Likely attended his funeral, which was conducted at the C. P. church in Willow springs by the write, E. O. Whitwell, pastor of the C. P. church.
