Obituary from the Evening Kansan Republican, December 20, 1905, page 1: John Kirkpatrick Dead. Prominent Farmer Succumbs to Complication of Diseases. John Kirkpatrick died at his home four miles northwest of town last night at six thirty having suffered a complication of diseases. The funeral will be held at the home tomorrow morning at ten o'clock his parents and brothers and sisters coming from Oklahoma and Wichita to attend the service. Mr. Kirkpatrick was only forty-three years old at the time of his death. He leaves a wife and three sons [children] to mourn his loss, his wife being a daughter of J. C. Burwell of this city. A member of the Modern Woodmen that order will attend the funeral in a body tomorrow morning. Mr. Kirkpatrick has been a resident of this county for many years and until disease overtook him was one of the substantial citizens of his community.
