Obituary from Evening Kansan Republican, July 5, 1938, Page 5. Mrs. Frances M. (Fannie Burwell) Kirkpatrick, passed away Monday, July 4, at 10:01 a.m. at the Axtell Christian hospital, where she was taken the day previous in a serious condition but her death was unexpected. Mrs. Kirkpatrick was born at Oakland, Ill., January 12, 1870, and hence was 68 years, five months and 21 days old. She came with her parents to Harvey county in 1877 settling in the east part of the county, later moving to Goddard and still later returning again to this county in 1899 and she has since lived here. Her husband John Kirkpatrick passed away in 1905. She is survived by the following children: Norman B. Ensor*, San Bernardino, Calif., Mrs. W. T. (Edith) Fisher, route 1, Newton; Ross Kirkpatrick, 111 Main street, Newton; John Kirkpatrick, route 1, Newton, also two sisters, Mrs. Ula Havens and Mrs. Loua Edwards, both of Goddard. Funeral services will be held at the First Methodist church, of which she was a member, Thursday morning at 9:30, with Rev. Logan Martin and Rev. D. D. Zook, in charge, in the absence of Rev. S. W. Keller, pastor. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery. Friends may see Mrs. Kirkpatrick any time this evening at the Moody-Hinitt Funeral chapel. She will be taken early Wednesday morning to the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. T. Fisher, on route 1, with whom she made her home during recent months.
