Obituary posted at findagrave.com: Mrs Bertha Candler, 83, of 1730 Elm Street, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Lady of Lourdes Convalescent Home. She was the widow of Marshall (Happy) Candler, who died in 1940. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Behr's. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Behr's. Mrs. Candler was born in Manchester, Iowa. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Boyd (Grace) Warrington, Springfield, Mo., Mrs. Alvin (Alice) Reth, and Mrs. Andrew (Bernice) Wilson, both of Manchester, Ia. Mrs. Leonard (Dorothy) Wiltsey, Long Island N.Y., Mrs James (Margie) Greer, Redondo Beach Calif.; five sons Howard Noyes, Bertha, Minn., Glenn P., Dubuque, Clifford D., Huntington Park, Calif., Charles R., Coal Valley, Ill., John L. of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; three sisters, Miss Florence Noyes and Mrs. George (Ruth) Roberts, both of Manchester, Ia., and Miss Hazel Noyes of Greeley, Iowa, Charles and Clarence Noyes of St. Louis, Mo.; thirty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
