Glenn Paul Candler

Posted at findagrave.com: Services for Glenn P. Candler, 73, 1730 Elm St., will be at noon Wednesday at Behr Funeral Home, 1491 Main St. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens, south of Dubuque. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Candler worked at the former Cradco Co., for 40 years and later at Jeld-Wen Fiber Products of Iowa for six years until his retirement. He was born on June 1, 1922, in Manchester, Iowa, son of Marshall A. "Happy" and Bertha A. (Noyes) Candler. He died at 9:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 1995, at The Finley Hospital. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and a volunteer at the Dubuque Boy's Club. He enjoyed woodworking and making doll furniture and doll houses. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Wilson of Manchester, and Mrs. James (Margery) Greer of Redondo Beach, Calif.; three brothers, Clifford D. Candler, of Huntington Park, Calif, Charles R. Candler, of Coal Valley, Ill., and John L. (Betty) Candler, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; an aunt, Florence Noyes of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. A Glenn P. Candler Memorial Fund has been established.
