Marriage

Notice in the newspaper....At the home of her father in Bear Creek Twp, Poweshiek County, Iowa occurred the marriage of Miss Rose Belle Breniman to Mr. Cornelius E. Willet, Wednesday evening 24 March, 1897. The Rev J.F. Kaiser of the Harmony Church officiated.
Notice in the Brooklyn Chronicle --- Married at the home of the bride, Wednesday evening, March 24, 1897, Mr. C. E. Willett and Rosa Bell Breniman, Rev. J. F. Kaiser officiating. About seventy-five guests assembled at the hospitable and beautiful Breniman home south of town, to witness the ceremony that united for life the hearts of these young people.
At 8 o'clock the wedding party entered the south parlor to the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Lily Breniman, sister of the bride, in the following order; Rev. Kaiser led and was followed by Miss Clara Breniman and Miss Mabel Shannon as ushers, Mr. Ed Nussbaum, the groomsman, and Miss Ella Breniman, bridesmaid, Mr. C. E. Willett, the groom and Miss Rosa B. Breniman, the bride, who wore a handsome costume of cream albatross trimmed with lace and ribbon and wore brides roses.
After the ceremony congratulations and well wishes were offered, after which the dining room doors were thrown open, revealing the tables that fairly groaned under their weight of good things. After the last table was served, the guests spent the time in social converse until the wee small hours. The presents were handsome and numberous.
The groom, familiarly knows to all his friends as Neal, is a prosperous young farmer of Warren twp., a young man of irreproachable character and a general favorite with all who know him. He has chosen for his bride a young lady who will be a helpmate to him in the truest sense of the word. She will preside with equal grace in parlor or kitchen and her friends are only limited by her acquaintances. The young people begin life under the most favorable of circumstances. They will go to housekeeping at once on what has been known for many years as the James Fry farm in Warren twp., with the best wishes of a host of friends.
Mrs Enoch Troutman and son Russell of Marshalltown, and Mrs. Geo. Weatherbee and daughters Eve and Bertha, of Victor, attended the nuptials.

Death

Rose had been in poor health for about six years, but her last illness was only a week in length.

Rose B Willett died Saturday March 7, 1942 at the Community hospital in Grinnell, Poweshiek County, Iowa. Interment was in the Brooklyn IOOF Cemetery, Brooklyn, Poweshiek County, Iowa.

Rose Belle Breniman was born November 11, 1876 near Victor, Warren Township, Poweshiek County, Iowa the daughter of Frederick and Matilda Gaumer Breniman.

She was married to Cornelius "Neal" Ellsworth Willett on March 24, 1897 in Poweshiek County, Iowa. To this union were born three children. One daughter and two sons.

As a child she united with the Moravian Church south and east of Brooklyn later transferring her membership to the Brooklyn Church of the Brethren.
