Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Sloan entertained their friends and neighbors to the number of twenty five on last Tuesday in splended sytle. About one o'clock dinner was announced and all partook of a feast fit for a king. The afternoon was spent in a social manner. Miss Anna Sloan and Miss Emma Brenniman furnished some splendid music on the organ while a number of the company joined in the singing. All expressed themselves as having enjoyed themselves splendidly.

Death
EMMA BRENIMAN TRIGGS ---Mrs. Emma A. Triggs, daughter of Frederick and matilda Brenniman was born near Victor, February 5th, 1867, and passed away at her home in Denver Colorado, January 24th, 1925, at the age of 59 years 11 months and 19 days.
Mrs. Triggs received her early education in the schools of Poweshiek County. Later she attended the Iowa State Teachers' College at Cedar Falls, and became a teacher, which vocation she followed for several years.
On the death of her mother she reentered the home and took the place as best she could as mother of the home, as she was the eldest of nine children. Later she went to Chicago and studied nursing and after becoming a graduate nurse she followed this profession for years.
In 1902 she was united in marriage to H. A. Triggs, of Denver, Colo. To this union was born a son, Harold, now of New York City, who, on account of recent illness, could not be present at the funeral. Mrs. Triggs has been failing in health for more than two years, but only for the last six months had her health been such as to give her family anxious fears.
Early in life she chose the good path that could be taken from her, and lived her life of loving service to make a better world. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Harold, and her brothers and sisters, O.R. Brenniman of Brooklyn, C. E. Brenniman of Denver Colo., Mrs. Ella Frease of Fort Collins, Colo., Mrs. C. F. Willett of Brooklyn, Mrs. Lillian Garnett of Fort Collins, W. F. Brenniman of Riverton, Colo., and E. S. and R. H. Brenniman of Fort Collins. Also a host of friends and loved ones mourn the loss of one who gave her best.
Funeral services were held from the home of cousin Fred Breniman Tuesday afternoon, January 27th, at two o'clock. Pallbearers wee Ed Monroe, Ed Nussbaum, W. A. Fraser, Walter Uhl, A. L. Manatt, and Frank Crepps. Interment was made in the Haven Cemetery.
