Sarah Castellaw
(21 Jan 1738 - 11 Jun 1818)
After her husbands death, Sarah "lived with her oldest son, Frederic. She had the misfortune to lose her eyesight when he was an infant, and although she was the mother of nine children, he was the only one whose features she ever saw. She lived to be ninety years old and was ever cheerful and apparently happy." (from the memoirs of Pauline Craig Hughes)
James Castellow/Castellaw's daughter Sarah was the one who md. Jesse Barfield. She was born 21 Jan. 1738 & she died 11 June 1818 at her son Thomas's home in Mulenburg Co., KY 89 yrs., 11 mo. & 20 days old. She & Jesse were md. abt. 1756.
Sarah Castellaw/Castellow was the daughter of James Castellaw b. 1685 England d. 1749 Bertie Co., NC.
Jesse Francis Barfield & Sarah Castellow had: Frederick, Stephen, Charity, Louis, Jon, Solomon & Thomas.
