Jane "Jenny" Haden

(Abt 1760 - Aft 1830)

Witnesses for marriage: Joseph Haden & Richmond Pearson

1830 Census. Davidson Co NC
George Haden, 1m age 20-30. 1f age 60-70
Apparently his mother living with him.

The estate file of Joseph Haden in Davidson Co, has the account of a sale, dated 18 Oct 1837 which seems to include the items from the household that a woman would have needed - flax wheel, spinning whell, dutch oven, dishes, cnadle stands, tables, chairs, bureau, chest, cupboard, etc. I suspect Jane was deceased by this time, or no longer able to maintain her own home. The final settlement of Joseph's estate was in 1844 - on 20 November, Meshack Pinkston, Admr of Jane Haden dec'd received the interest on the principal on the money derived from the sales of Joseph's personal property. Jane was left 190 acres of land, five slaves, and the household and farm tools to maintain the children for her natural life, then to be divided equally among the children after her decease. The estate could not be settled as long as she was still living. I didn't find any possibilities for Jane in the 1840 census; it just may have taken a long to finalize the estates.
