In his father's will, Alexander was to receive the home plantation of 190 acres after his mother died. Dated 15 Feb 1821.

1840 Macon Co Census on the same page with his brother Joseph & uncle Robert G. and assorted cousins:
Alx Haden. 2m -5 [Granville & Franklin]; 1m 5-10 [Henderson], 2m 10-15 [Joseph & John], 1m 30-40 [Alexander age 34] 2f under 5 [Rebecca & Martha], 1f 20-30 [prob Rebecca Frost though she was slightly older] 10 slaves.
Found in Joseph Haden's estate file. Alexander's mother also now dead. One wonders how this transaction took place from North Carolina to Alabama
Inventory of the Sale of Joseph Haden dec'd. Negroes being advertised according to Law to be sold on the 21st October 1844. His Executors being dead & Mgr. George Smith leving [sic -leaving]. His Executor proceed to sell the following negroes the above day. Alexander Haden became the highest bidder for Mary at Two hundred & fifty dollars and Robert at Two hundred & seventy dollars & Joseph Haden became the Highest bidder for Nathan at $200. the hole Sum is Seven Hundred & Twenty dollars for whose Sums they gave their bonds with aprooved security. The 1850 census in DeSoto Parish, LA, lists the children through Granville as born in North Carolina; Rebecca, Martha & Will born in Alabama, Sarah & Thos W. born in Louisiana. It would appear they moved to Alabama about 1837 and then came to Louisiana in the late 1840's.
Land Patent in Bullock Co AL dated 1 Jun 1845. Land patent in DeSoto Parish LA 1 Sep 1849.
