Mathias Joseph Zierden

Math J. Zierden of New Munich, age 62 years, died last Friday after a lingering illness.
The funeral was held Monday morning at the Immaculate Conception church with Father Victor OSB, officiating. Richard Rademacher, a grandson, was crossbearer and the active pallbearers were: Lawrence, LeRoy and Robert Zierden, Jerome Pundsack, Ray Korte and Jos. Koshenina. Honorary pallbearers were: Anton Massmann, Herman Behnen, Anton Nathe, Geroge Zierden, Henry Holdvogt and Theo. Wiebolt.
The deceased was born at St. Joseph, FL September 12, 1893 and came to New Munich at the age of four years. On May 11, 1920, he married Mary Wehsler there and they farmed in the New Munich area.
Mrs. Zierden and the following children survive: Mrs. Virgil (Theresa) Rademacher, Jerome, Mrs. Herbert (Delores) Dierkhissing and Mrs. Al (Margaret) Borgerding of New Munich; Hubert of Albany; Arthur of Sauk Centre; Mrs. Ralph (Lucille) Fishbach of Melrose; and Edmund, Valerian, Rose Mary and Geraldine at home.
Brothers and sisters surviving are: Sister Annina, OSB, St. Benedict's, St. Joseph; Sister Edicta, OSB, Ogden, UT; Joseph, St. Paul and Aloys, Albany. Mr. Zierden was a member of the St. Joseph's society and Catholic Aid society at New Munich.
