In an affidavit filed 7 Apr 1865 in the Leland Brown Pension File she is living in Boscobel, Grant County, Wisconsin and certified that in 1837 she was living in Gerry, Chautauqua County, New York.
In 1860 Census she is living as head of household and as a school teacher in Boscobel. Living with her are her sister Clarissa and 17 year old niece Fidelia Cobb.
In 1870 Census she is as "Martha DeLap" and living with her sister Clarissa Jones and Lorenda Carpenter, her nephew Volney A. Brown, and niece Texanna Cobb in Boscobel.
In 1880 Census (Dwelling 10, Page 44) she is a divorced head of household school teacher living on Freemont Street in Boscobel.
On June 25, 1896 she sent a picture and a note from Boscobeln to her brother Freedom. PIcture was taken by her nephew Chester O. Brown.
In the 1900 Census she is living in Milton, Rock County, Wisconsin (Page 4B, Dwelling 112, Family 118) as a boarder at the W. C. Whitford residence.
Researcher Curtis Jones acquired a Death Certificate with the following information: Martha M. Jones, 74 years old, born in New York, Died 1 April 1903 at Rock County Hospital of Heart Disease. Burial in Milton. Date of Burial Permit 1 April 1903, Recorded 13 May 1903, Liber 5, Page 139, Death Record 90.
From the Janesville Daily Gazette, Friday 3 April 1903, Page 6, Column 1, Under Milton News, "The remains of Miss. M. M. Jones who died at the county asylum were brought here for burial Thursday and funeral services conducted by her pastor Rev. D. Platts, were held at the Seventh Day Baptist Church."
