In the 1880 Census she is living with her husband and family in Haney, Crawford County, Wisconsin.
In the 1900 Census she is living in Dazey, Barnes County, North Dakota with her husband and daughter Annie in the home of her daughter, Fannie.
In the 1910 Census she is living in Dazey, Barnes County, North Dakota with her husband two sons and a daughter and is self-employed as a house paper-hanger. It also indicates she had six children, with four living in 1910. . Living next door is her granddaughter, her husband and greatgranddaughter.
In the 1920 Dazey, Barnes County, North Dakota she is living with son George and daughter Anna.
In a Declaration For Widow's Pension signed on 8 Mar 1922 she is living in Courtenay, Stutsman County, North Dakota.
In the 1925 Dazey, Barnes County, North Dakota state census she is living with her daughter Anna.
In a resubmittal of a Declaration For Widow's Pension signed on 8 Aug 1927 she is living in Mercer, McLean County, North Dakota.
Her granddaughter, Ellora Eve Mae Stevens, wrote in her biography that her grandmother Brown was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and when in Wisconsin attended the Wheatville, Wisconsin congregation.
A story her granddaughter Ellora Stevens told (Ellora was raised by the Browns and the Laings) was that they came from the east in covered wagons. The amber necklace Margaret wore (some versions of this database have a picture of Margaret appended) was given to her by an Indian woman who made it and put it on Margaret. It had no hook or clasp to allow it to be removed by Margaret. It is said they had to cut it off from her when she passed away.
