In the 1920, 1930, and 1940 Census she is living in Courtenay, Stutsman County, North Dakota and in 1930 it indicates she is 61, married at 31, born in Wisconsin, father born in New York, mother born in Indiana.

"MRS. GEO. LAING, COURTENAY, DIES
Mrs. Fannie E. Laing, wife of George Laing, Courtenay, died early Wednesday at her home in Courtenay. She had been ill for three years.
Mrs. Laing was born in Belle Center, Wisconsin, March 21, 1867, and was married at Valley City on January 22, 1900. She came to Barnes county in 1897, living there until moving to Stutsman county in 1912.
Survivors are Mr. Laing, two sons, Marvin R., of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Gordon F., Delavan, Wisconsin; a granddaughter, Lillian of Delavan; and a sister, Miss Nora Ann Brown, Dazey.
Mrs. Laing was a member of the Presbyterian church and aid society.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Courtenay, Rev. J. Way Huey officiating. Interment will be in the Courtenay cemetery.
The body is at the Eddy Funeral Home."
