Harriet marries at age fifteen and in the 1880 Census is living with her husband in Scott, Crawford County, Wisconsin.
In the 1900 Census the family is living in Haney, Crawford County, Wisconsin. She indicates she has six children with six surviving; however, the Census lists seven children in addition 1 year old Henry Johnson assumed to be a son of Algie even though the Census gives Algie's surname as Coleman. The Whiteaker-Coleman Cemetery transcriptions indicate "Whiteaker, Latie Apr;15, 1888--Jan;27, 1902, dau. of Hiram & Hattie" and yet there is no child listed in the 1900 Census as having been born in 1888.
