Mrs. Gilbert Moe Drowns In Squaw Lake While Bathing
Tragedy Occurred but a Few Miles from Her Home
Had Gone in Bathing to Escape Terrific Heat; Body Recovered Shortly After; Funeral Takes Place This Afternoon
Mrs. Gilbert Moe was drowned in Squaw Lake, about 3 1/2 miles west of Cedar Lake, Thursday afternoon.
She was bathing in the lake, near which she lived, to escape the intense heat, and it is thot that she was overcome by the heat while in the lake. The body was recovered late in the afternoon.
Mrs. Moe was 58 years and 11 months old and is survived by the husband, 3 daughters, 4 sons, 2 brothers, Dan and John Engstrom, the latter of Hudson, and 1 sister, Mrs. Mary Staberg, also of Hudson.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 2:30 this afternoon, Rev. John Haaland of Star Prairie, officiating, with intermenrt at Huntington cemetery.

New Richmond--Mrs. Gilbert Moe, well known in Hudson, was drowned in Squaw Lake, north of New Richmond, last Thursday afternoon.
Mrs. Moe, who was 58 years old, was bathing in the lake near which she lived to escape from the intense heat of the day. Just how she happened to drown is not known. The body was recovered later in the afternoon.
She is survived by her husband, three daughters and four sons. Two brothers, Dan and John Engstrom, the latter of Hudson, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Staberg, of Hudson, are also bereaved.
Funeral services were held at the home Saturday afternoon, Rev. John Haaland of Star Prairie officiating. Interment was in Huntington cemetery.
