The son of Gilbert Anderson Moe and Martha Engstrom. His father was born in Norway and his mother born in Sweden. Served in the army during World War l. Married Jeanette Boucher in Farmington, Polk County, Wisconsin on 12 November 1919. The father of twelve children: Lawrence Gilbert/1920, Genevieve Alma/1922, Roy/1924, Berniece/1926, Leo/1927, Alice/1929, Glendetta Evelyn/1930, Shirley Joan/1933, John/1934, Stanley/1936, Robert/1938, Audrey Mae/1940. He had his own farm in Maple Plain Twp., Barron County, Wisconsin. He was 5' 11" tall and as a young man weighed 180 lbs., however the last twenty five years of his life he weighed 130 lbs. He had light blonde to reddish hair and a light complexion. According to his oldest daughter he was a gentle, kindly, quiet man. His death was due to respiratory failure from a resistant strain of an organism, pneumonia, pulmonary edema congestion.
