John C. Krattley

In the 1910 Federal Census for Everett, Snohomish County, Washington, John and wife May state they have been married seven years. It is the first marriage for John and the second for May. He is employed as a laborer for a lumber company. They have two children, a son, Lawrence C., age 5, born in Washington, and a daughter, Martina M., age 3, born in Washington. In 1920 John is employed as a blacksmith for the railroad. The Polk Directory, 1926-27, lists John's occupation as helper for the Great Northern Railroad.
In 1930 they own their home valued at $1200, they don't have a radio. John lists his occupation as a blacksmith helper for the railroad. Their son, Laurence lives in the household and is employed as a longshoreman on the docks. The 1940 census lists their street address as 2911 Walnut St., Everett, Wash. They are both age 71, John is apprently retired as he doesn't list an occupation. His education ended at 4th grade. John died in 1943 and his wife, Mae, in 1950.
Larger than both Delaware and Rhode Island, Snohomish county is the 13th largest count in Washington. It reaches from the crest of the Cascade Mountains on the east to Puget Sound on the west. Everett is located on the west near the coast and north of Seattle.
