Death
Brice Furr, 40, died suddenly at his home in Stanfield on Wednesday night about 8:30. The cause of death was apparently a heart attack. A native of Stanly county, he was the son of George Furr of Kannapolis and the late Mrs. Furr. He had worked with the State Highway department for a number of years. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at Love's Grove Methodist church, with the pastor, Rev. D. A. Hamilton, in charge. The time for the funeral had not been set at press time Thursday. Burial will be in the Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Tersia Kiker; his father, three daughters, Ethel, Christine and Linda, and one son, Arlie, all of the home; two brothers, Clyde, of Concord and Bud, of Kannapolis; and six sisters, Mrs. Carlia James of Concord; Mrs. Dora Yow of Stanfield, Mrs. Gertie Mills of Baltimore, Mrs. Ruth Burnett, Mrs. Helen Elwood, and Mrs. Francis Combs, all of Kannapolis.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, October 1, 1948
