Death
NEWBERRY — Mrs. Essie Furr Smith, 8, widow of Thomas Miller Smith, died Monday at Newberry County Memorial Hospital. Born in Laurinburg, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Henry and Abigail Hudson Furr. She was a retired employe of the Kendall Company plant in Mollohon. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. AP. (Margaret) Boozer, Mrs. Paris (Sara) Livingston and Mrs. Harold (Ruth) Bowers of Newberry; a son, Larry T. Smith of Carey, N.C.; a brother, P.C. Furr of Clinton; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Plans will be announced by Whitaker Funeral Home.The State, Columbia, South Carolina, May 25, 1976
