Death

Death claimed John W. Furr 62, Noble businessman since 1916 who died at his home, after a long illness of heart disease, Tuesday, March 23. Mr. Furr, who had been in the lumber business in Noble came from Kirkland, Texas, where he had been in the same business. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. J. W. Furr, and two daughters. Mrs. Gerald Tuma, of Long Branch, N. J., and Miss Anita Ruth Furr, of Washington, D. C., and three sisters. Mrs. C. W. Furr, Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Jim Felts, Kirkland, and Mrs. Bert Loar, of Paducah Texas, three brothers, Rev. W. C. Furr, Memphis, Tenn., Ben Furr, Terrall, Oklahoma and Matthew Furr, of Levy, New Mexico. Funeral rites were held last Thursday afternoon at the Noble Methodist church, with Rev. J. P. King, and Rev. H. M. James, in charge of the services. Burial was made at the IOOF cemetery, with Meyer and Meyer Funeral home in charge. Bearers were D. E. Thomas Robert White, Louis Brosius, John Jicha, Leo Mauldin, and S. C. Scott. Mr. Furr was a member of the Methodist church, and was superintendent of the Sunday School. He was a former member of the Masons.
