Death
John Henry Furr, age 54, of 6304 K Lake Dr. passed away March 16, 1972 in a local hospital. Funeral service will be at 3:30 Friday in McEwen West Chapel. Rev. Leland K. Stephens, pastor of Grace Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Charlotte Memorial Garden. A World War 11 veteran, he was born in Charlotte February 19, 1918, son of late Henry R. and Rose Perry Furr. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was associated with L. A. Furr & Son painting contractors. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Bobby L. Humphries, Charlotte; two sons, Richard Wayne Furr, Winston-Salem and Ronald J. Furr, Charlotte; a sister, Mrs. Etta F. Shinn, Charlotte; a brother, Lester A. Furr, Charlotte; and five grandchildren. Nephews will serve as pall bearers.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, March 17, 1972
