Death
Mrs. Clemmie Clontz Furr, 82, of Stanfield died at Mercy Hospital, Charlotte, Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p. m. Thursday at the Love’s Grove Methodist Church by Rev. Eddie Sides, Rev. John Hamilton and Rev. Wade Barbee. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the home today. Mrs. Furr was born November 3, 1884 in Union County. She is survived by her husband, Baxter Furr; 5 sons, Floyd of Stanfield, Homer of Albemarle, Clifford and Clayton of Charlotte, and Morris of Stanfield; 5 daughters, Mrs. Albert Kiker of Concord, Mrs. Eddie Love of Stanfield, Mrs. Grover Smith of Charlotte, Mrs. Grady Hatley of Asheboro and Mrs. Clyde Hatcock of Locust; a sister, Mrs. Allie Smith; 33 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great- grandchildren.Independent Tribune, Concord, North Carolina, January 11, 1967
