Death
Rettie Bell Furr Kiker, 91, of 5471 Flowe's Store Rd., Concord, died at 4:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, in NorthEast Medical Center in Concord. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Pine Grove Baptist Church in Concord. The Rev. Steve Hicks and The Rev. Donald Lisk will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Born in Stanly County, July 7, 1906, she was a daughter of the late Archibald Baxter and Clemmie Clontz Furr and was a homemaker. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Her husband, Albert Thomas Kiker, preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Harvey Lee Kiker of Stanfield and Archie J. Kiker of Concord; a daughter, Brenda Ritch of Charlotte; two brothers, Homer Furr of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Clayton Furr of Midland; three sisters, Nellie Smith of Charlotte, Margie Hatley of Asheboro and Vernia Hathcock of Locust; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive, friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, November 2, 1997
