Death
Miss Dora Mae Furr, 63, of Route 4, Albemarle, died at 10:45 p.m. Friday at her home, following an illness of several years. A native of Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Jenkins Furr and Tina C. Bowers Furr. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church, conducted by Elder C. M. Mills and Elder Cliff Allen, with burial in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Carl Furr, Jr., Gerald Furr, Cecil Furr, Horace Furr, Ted Hatley and Billy Hatley. Miss Furr is survived by three brothers, Shuford Furr of Albemarle, Allen Furr of Route 3, Albemarle, and Carl Furr of Route 4, Albemarle; and two sisters, Miss Sarah Jane Furr and Miss Bertha Furr, both of Route 4 Albemarle.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, September 19, 1967
