Death
RICHFIELD — James Boyce Furr, 74, of Route 2, died April 11, 1988, at Rowan Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be held at 1 pm Wednesday at New Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Michael Miller and the Rev. James Allred. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at Edwards Funeral Home in Norwood tonight from 7 to 9. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Born Dec 14, 1913, in Anson County, he was a son of the late Marshall Filmore and Nora Dennis Furr. A member of New Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, he had retired from Wiscasset Mills. His first wife, Willie Rogers Furr, died March 21, 1960. Survivors include his second wife, Frances Rogers Furr, four sons, Roger Furr of Matthews, Boyd Furr of Albemarle, John and David Furr, both of Richfield, three brothers, Claude, Jack and Tommie Furr, all of Albemarle, three sisters, Ruth Morris, Myrtle Howard and Pauline Burleson, all of Albemarle, six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.Endnotes
