ALBEMARLE — Eddie Boyd Furr, 63, 23295 Wyatt Road, died Tuesday (Oct. 10, 1995) at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 22, 1931, in Albemarle, Furr was a son of the late James Boyd and Willie Rogers Furr. Retired, he was a sewing machine mechanic with E.J. Snyder and Sons. He was a member of West Albemarle Baptist Church. Survivors include wife Rachel Lucille Kepley Colting Furr; son Eddie Furr, Litchfield Beach, S.C.; daughter Terry. F. McCarthy, Albemarle; half brothers David Furr, Richfield, and John Furr, Locust; stepsons Daniel Collins, Dallas, Texas, and David Collins, Albema stepdaughter Cheryl C. Binett, Matthews; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, West Albemarle Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Wiley Rutledge. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30. Burial at Poplins Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation: 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Hartsell Funeral Home.
