Death
Juddie Farrington Furr, 50, of 1241 Louise Ave., died Saturday in a local hospital, Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in McEwen West Chapel. The Rev. W. B. Neill, former pastor of Robinson Presbyterian Church, and Dr. George Moore of Allen Street Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, the former Mary A. McCall; four daughters, Mrs. Gene Foster of Concord, Mrs. Bob Lamb of Heyburn, Idaho, Mrs. Barbara Whittington and Miss Phyllis Furr of the home: two sons, Bill F. Furr and J. Watson Furr of Charlotte; two sisters, Mrs. Gene Van Cannon of Locust and Mrs. Clarence Beal of Concord; five brothers, Clifford Furr of Midland, Johnson Furr of Augusta, Ga., Leonard Furr and Norman Furr of Charlotte and E. K. Furr of Concord; a half- sister, Mrs. Lula Haigler of Midland, and a half-brother, Floyd Furr of Monroe.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, December 25, 1962
A 50-year-old man collapsed and died on the street in front of 2417 The Plaza Saturday night. Juddie Farrington Furr of 1041 Louise Ave. was pronounced dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital. Police blamed the death on a heart attack. Furr had just been released from Memorial Hospital Saturday morning after being admitted Friday for chest pains, police said. They quoted doctors as saying he had a history of heart trouble. Funeral plans were incomplete. Surviving are his wife: daughters, Mrs. Gene Foster of Concord, Mrs. Bob Lamb of Idaho, Mrs. Barbara Whittington and Miss Phillis Furr, both of the home; sons, Bill Furr, J. Watson Furr, both of Charlotte; sisters, Mr. Gene VanCannon of Locust, Mrs. Clarence Deal of Concord; half-sister, Mrs. Lula Haigler of Midland; brothers, Clifford Furr of Midland, Leonard Furr and Norman Furr, both of Charlotte, Johnson Furr of Augusta, Ga., E. K. Furr of Concord; half-brother, Floyd Furr of Monroe.
