Death

Mr. Bill F. Furr, 68, of Cornelius, NC, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at his residence. He was born March 7, 1931 in Union County, NC, a son of the late Juddie Farrington Furr and Mary Alta McCall Furr. He was a graduate of Oakhurst High School Class of 1950, a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, and retired after 35 years of service from the Air National Guard and U.S. Air Force with the rank of Chief. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 23, at 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rob Hinman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center of the church. Survivors are his wife, Lynda Knox Furr; daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Keller of Charlotte and Mrs. Tricia Wilburn of Leesville, SC; stepdaughters, Mrs. Monika C. Tompkins of Mooresville and Mrs. DeAnna C. Brown of Marietta, GA; brother, J. Watson Furr of Charlotte; sisters, Mrs. Louise F. Foster of Concord, Ms. Barbara Furr of Charlotte, Mrs. Meta F. Lamb of Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Phyllis F. Bennett of Cary, NC; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, 19920 Bethel Church Road, Cornelius, NC 28031. Arrangements are by Almond, Raymer & McConnell Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC.
