Death
Funeral rites for Mrs. Mary A. Furr, 62, of Midland, were conducted Sunday afternoon at Millgrove Methodist church. Mrs. Furr died at her home Saturday morning after an illness of a year. Daughter of the late Jason and Ellen Hartsell, Mrs. Furr was born in Stanly county July 11, 1884 and was the widow of P. C. Furr. She had lived in the Midland community 24 years. Surviving are two daughters and six sons as follows: Mrs. Gladys Green of Midland and Mrs. Edith Thomas of Concord; Clifford Furr of Midland; Leonard, Fred, John, and Norman Furr of Charlotte and E. K. Furr of Concord. Two step-daughters, two step-sons, and 25 grandchildren also survive.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, April 22, 1947
