Death
ALBEMARLE — James Arthur Furr, 67, of 1418 Hickory Avenue, died at 7 a.m. today at his home after three months of illness. He was the son of Sally Mann Furr and the late Robert N. Furr. Mr. Furr was a retired merchant. He was a member of Main Street Methodist Church. He is survived by his widow, the former Ola Marguerite Peck; three brothers, W. P., W. L., and Sheriff Robert M. Furr, all of Albemarle; six sisters, Mrs. Silas Efird, Mrs. Ben Smith, Mrs. J. E. Gantt, Mrs. John Johnson, Mrs. Robert Organ and Mrs. Colon Mauldin, all of Albemarle. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m, at the Main Street Methodist Church with the Rev. Harold Jordan in charge, assisted by the Rev. D. Moody Nifong and the Rev. Dick Hobson. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The body will be in state before the service. It will be taken from the Lefler Funeral Home to the home tomorrow morning.The Salisbury Post, Salisbury, North Carolina, November 5, 1957
