Death

Funeral services for Mrs. R. N. Furr, 85, who died last Wednesday in the Stanly County Hospital, were held Friday at 3 p. m. at Central Methodist Church of which she was member, Rev. Cecil L. Heckard, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev. Moody Nifong, former pastor. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Fred Harwood, Paul Ussery, L. H. Kirkpatrick, Cecil Sides, Coburn Lowder, Frank Crisco, T. C. Morgan, and John Underwood, Jr. A member of a prominent Stanly family, Mrs. Furr was the former Miss Sallie McCurdy Mann, daughter of the late Dock and Melinda Love Mann of this county. Her husband, Robert N. Furr, a former Sheriff of Stanly County, died in 1942. Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. S. I. Efird, Mrs. Ben Smith, Mrs. J. E. Gantt, Mrs. John R. Johnson, Mrs. Robert Morgan, and Mrs. Colon Mauldin of Albemarle; three sons, W. P., W. L., and sheriff Robert M. Furr, all of Albemarle. Out-of-town people attending the funeral services included the following: Mrs. J. C. Bodenhetmer, Mrs. Buddy Long, Mrs. Joe Morrison, Mrs. Mae Furr, Mrs. Will Little, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sink, all of Concord; Mr. and Mrs. George French, Rev. and Mrs. Howard Jordan and Richard, Rev. and Mrs. Moody Nifong, all of Charlotte; Robert B. Furr of Fayetteville, Mr. and Mrs. Robah Griggs of Windsor; Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Gilbert of Raleigh; Mr. and Mrs. Robert T. Schisselbauer and daughters, Jan and Sally of| Myrtle Beach, S. C.
