Death
ALBEMARLE-—Mrs. Ola Furr Efird, 85, of 1428 Hickory Ave. died Thursday afternoon at Stanly County Hospital after being in declining health for five months. The funeral will be at 3 pm on Saturday at Second Street Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. David Alexander. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will be at the Stanly Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Second Street Presbyterian Church building fund. Born May 19,1892 in Stanly County, Mrs. Efird was a daughter of the late Robert Nelson and Sarah Mann Furr. She was a retired salesperson for Efird's Department Store, was a member of Second Street Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the World War I Auxiliary. Her husband Irenus Efird died in 1935. Survivors include one daughter Mrs. Ermine Shankle of Albemarle, two brothers W. L. Furr of Albemarle and Robert M. Furr of Dunn, five sisters Mrs. Ben Smith, Mrs. J. E. Gantt, Mrs. J. R. Johnson, Mrs. Robert Morgan, and Mrs. Colon Mauldin all of Albemarle and one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.Endnotes
