Death
Bruce C. Furr, 46, prominent Oakboro resident, dropped dead of a heart attack Saturday morning at 11 o'clock while walking in a field at his farm near Locust. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 5 o’clock at Oakboro Presbyterian church, conducted by Rev. A. A. Walker and Rev. Mr. Carmichael. Mr. Furr had been connected with the Norfolk & Southern railroad for the past 28 years. He is survived by his widow and three children.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, July 8, 1941
