Death
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Love’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where he was a member, for Sylvester James Furr, 87, of Route 2, Stanfield, who died Monday in Charlotte. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Corrie Barrier. He was born in Stanly County on May 15, 1882, son of the late George E. and Adeline Biggers Furr. Rev. L. C. Morton, Rev. Ed Sides, and Rev. Ted Hoffman officiated, with burial following in the church cemetery.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, February 20, 1970
