Death
Croney Fletcher (Shorty) Furr, 57, well-known farmer of the Rhea Mills community, Route 4 McKinney, died suddenly from a heart attack at 3 p.m. Tuesday while visiting in the home of a neighbor. He was born June 19, 1897, the son of J. M. and Martha Ann Dry Furr, and had lived in Collin County all of his life. He was married to Miss Lola Howard, in McKinney, in 1918. His survivors are his wife, Mrs. C.F. Furr, Route 4 McKinney; four sons, Everett M. and Frederick Furr, both of Los Angeles, Calif.; Kenneth T. Furr, of Dallas; Charles H. Furr, of McKinney; Misses Dana J. and Louva Ann Furr, of Route 4, McKinney; six brothers, Jason Furr, of Frisco; DeWitt Furr, of Dallas; John, Robert, Clarence and Lee Furr, all of McKinney; four, sisters, Mrs. Milford Jenkins, Mrs. Eugene Bryant, Mrs. C. H. Ragsdale and Mrs. E. L. (Kali) Woods, all of McKinney. Five grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. in the Rhea Mills Baptist Church, with burial in Pecan Grove Cemetery, directed by Turrentine-Jackson Mortuary.The Courier-Gazette, McKinney, Texas, December 15, 1954
