Death
Mr. Silas Monroe Furr, 81, of Sharon Village Nursing Center died Tuesday of congestive heart failure. Funeral is 2 p.m. Friday at McEwen West Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens. Mr. Furr was a retired carpenter and a member of College Park Baptist Church. Survivors are sons, Luther Furr of Asheboro, Charles Furr of Roanoke, Va., Silas Furr Jr., Kenneth Furr, Mack Furr; daughters, Mrs. Doris Robinson, Mrs. Betty Beeker, Mrs. Ruby Greene, Mrs.Shirley Helms, Mrs. Brenda Moore; brothers, Jackson Furr of Stanfield, Walter Furr of Concord; sisters, Mrs. Ethel Simpson, Mrs. Eva Honeycutt, Miss Autie Furr, all of Locust, Mrs. Leety Fink of Stanfield; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McEwen West.The Charlotte News, Charlotte, North Carolina, March 28, 1984
