Death
MURRELLS INLET | Mrs. Betty Furr Stephens Helms, 74, of Murrells Inlet, S.C. and formerly of Charlotte, N.C., passed away after a short illness on Monday, January 8, 2007. She was a longtime employee of AAA Insurance Company and was a caregiver. Mrs. Helms has left behind her constant companion, Ginger; her son, Carl Douglas Stephens of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; two grandchildren, Amanda Bradford of Denver, N.C. and Carl Stephens of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a great-grandchild, Beau Bradford, son of Lane and Amanda Bradford; and her siblings, Ruby Greene, Shirley Helms, Brenda Furr Moore and Mac Furr. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2007 at McEwen Funeral Service Mint Hill Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2007 at McEwen Funeral Service Mint Hill Chapel. Please sign a guest book at MyrtleBeachOnline.com.
