Death
ALBEMARLE — Daniel Monroe Furr, 66, of 536 Elizabeth Ave., died Sunday at 5:05 p.m. at Stanly Memorial Hospital after being in declining health for eight years. The funeral will be 2 p.m.Tuesday at the Old Fashion Mission with the Rev. Paul Hogan and the Rev. Darrell Cook officiating. Burial will be in Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The family will be at Stanly Funeral Home tonight from 7 to 9. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Born Feb. 27, 1918, in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Marshall and Rosie Furr Furr. He was retired from the American and Efrid Mill Co. and was a member of the Old Fashion Mission. Survivors include his wife, Bernice Mauldin Furr; five sons, Marshall M. Furr of Charlotte, Joseph C. Furr of China Grove, Roger D. Furr of Concord, Darrell Furr and Jim Shepherd of Albemarle; four stepsons, Roger Mauldin of Swansboro, Darrell Mauldin of Fayetteville, Jimmy and Gerald Mauldin, both of Albemarle; a daughter, Maxine F. Sexton of New London; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Jimmy Burris of New London and Mrs. Cecil Honeycutt of Albemarle; a brother, Lewis E. Furr of Albemarle; five sisters, Nellie Honeycutt of New London, Lula Morton, Lillie Broadway, Vera Helms and Ruby McIntyre, all of Albemarle, 18 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.Military
