Death

Lillie Mae Furr Broadway, 79, of 717 W. Oakwood Ave., Albemarle, died at 3:03 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 1999, in Stanly Memorial Hospital. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel. Darrell Furr and The Rev. Delane Burris will officiate and burial will be in the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Albemarle. Born Jan. 17, 1920, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Marshall Lemueal (sic) and Rosa Jane Furr Furr. She retired from Albemarle Spinning as a spinner operator. She was a member of Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lane Broadway, who died Dec. 19, 1963, and a son, Jesse Broadway. She is survived by a son, Ronald Broadway of Albemarle; three daughters, Nancy Miller of Albemarle, Julia Furr of Thomasville, and Jeanette Westmoreland of Trinity; a brother, Sam Furr of Albemarle; four sisters, Vera Helms, Ruby McIntyre and Lula Morton, all of Albemarle, and Nellie Honeycutt of Richfield; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
