Death
High Point – Mrs. Julia Mae Broadway Martin, 80, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020, at the Hospice Home at High Point. Born December 28, 1939, in Stanley County, Julia was the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillie Mae Furr Broadway. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Long, and siblings, Ronald Broadway, Jesse Broadway, and Nancy Miller. Julia was a homemaker and was a member of Green Street Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Martin; son, Everette F. Furr, of Thomasville; daughters, Wendy L. Beck and husband, Randy, of Thomasville, Pam Martin and Amy Martin, both of High Point; sister, Jeanette Westmoreland and husband, Robert, of Trinity; and six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 25th, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point.Endnotes
