Death
Mrs. Bessie Lee Furr Blake, 68, of 912 Highland Ave. died Friday at Greensboro Hospital. Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Church Street Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Jerry Strader and the Rev. J. William Kanoy officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park. A native of Stanly County, she had lived in Greensboro 39 years. Surviving are husband, David A. Blake; daughters, Mrs. Edith Johnson, Mrs. Frances Smith and Mrs. Bonnie Keaton of Greensboro; son, Bucky Blake of Boynton Beach, Fla.; sisters, Mrs. Harvey Burleson and Mrs. George Mauldin of Albemarle, Mrs. Oscar Harris of Charlotte, Mrs. Pat Cagle of New London, Mrs. Donald Herrin of Oakboro; brothers, Horace and Vernon Furr of Albemarle; eight grandchildren. The family will be at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today.The Greensboro Record, Greensboro, North Carolina, February 18, 1978
