Death
Mr. D C Furr died Wednesday night the 30th at his home a mile above Concord at the age of 68 years. Mr. Furr has been a sufferer from abdominal tumor for some 20 years to which his vital force has had to yield. Mr. Furr was a confederate soldier. He was a good and consistent member of Mount Olive M. E. church. He leaves his life companion and four sons and two daughters. The sons are all engaged in the mercantile business, D M and ML at Forest Hill, J M at King's Mountain, M E at the crossing of the Gold Hill and Salisbury roads in No. 6 township. The daughters are Mrs. J A Furr and Miss Mattie Furr. The funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 o'clock by his pastor, the Rev. Mr. Bradley, and the burial will be in the city cemetery.The Standard, Concord, North Carolina, February 1, 1901
