We are pained to learn that Mr. Daniel Furr, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of this county, is lying at the point of death at his home, in township No. 9. Yesterday when we got our information, he was not expected to live till this morning.The Concord Times, Concord, North Carolina, June 10, 1876

On Daniel's tombstone are the words:"Even so, Father, For it seemed good in thy sight. Matt. IX, 26."
"For dust thou art and unto dust thou shalt return. Gen. III, 19."
