Individual Details

Martin FURR

(11 Nov 1827 - 22 Feb 1865)

Moved to Pope County, Arkansas sometime before 1850, he is found on the census there living with a Paul H. Edgar.

The 1860 NC Cabarrus Co. Census (house #1023) shows Martin as a farmer living with Mary and all of his children. However, it shows all birth places as North Carolina. The children's names are mixed up a bit; although, this is the correct family. Henry Lewis Furr, Martin's son, does list his mother as being born in Arkansas on the 1900 NC Cabarrus Co. Census. Mary was born in Alabama, but lived in Arkansas until marrying Martin Furr.
