Death

Funeral services were held Sunday at Locust Baptist Church for Mrs. Jennie Furr Talley, 78, of Route 2, Stanfield, who died Friday afternoon in the Stanly County Hospital. Rites were conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. W. Pate, with burial following in the church cemetery. The body lay in state in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Mrs. Talley was born December 21, 1891 in Stanly County, the daughter of the late Nelson and Lizzie Dry Furr. She was a member of Locust Baptist Church. Her husband, Paul Wilson Talley, preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons, Homer and Charlie Talley of Stanfield; five daughters, Mrs. Pauline Dry of Oakboro, Mrs. Evelyn Love, Mrs. Vernia Hathcock, Mrs. Carra Yow and Mrs. Hazel Helms, all of Stanfield; two brothers, Willis Furr of Locust and Ralph Furr of Stanfield; and four sisters, Mrs. Omie Springer. and Miss Zora Furr of Oakboro, Mrs. Nell Hathcock of Kannapolis, and Mrs. Elma Os| borne of Stanfield; also 18 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
